Kindness All Around

To the Editor:

Sometimes all the bad news gets me down. But in the past few weeks I have been so encouraged by all the kindnesses shown to me. First of all, I have to admit I got way behind (3 years behind) in filing our income taxes (not because of lack of money, but because of procrastination... eye-rolling emoji here).

We needed a lot of work done on the 3 year project, and didn’t have much time to meet the deadline. Sandy Kana Accounting has taken care of us for many, many years. And her employee Dorothy does most of our work there. Their entire office was working to meet a couple of big deadlines of their own. But they squeezed us in and got our taxes done for us in time. They went over and above to help us out...way over and above. We are so appreciative of their kindness.

And several other businesses in La Grange helped us out also...

Mary at Edward Jones (Buster Hill office) A lady at the property tax office Rainey at Nitsche Insurance in Giddings A lady at Botts Title Company Christine at Bridge Church And anyone else I forgot about.

I’m encouraged. Evil might be in the news, but kindness is all around us.
