Kieke, Eichler Family Reunions Cancelled for 2020
The Kieke Reunion scheduled for May 24 at the La Bahia Hall has been cancelled.
The Eichler Reunion scheduled for June 7 at the La Bahia Hall has also been cancelled.
Decoration Services
The decoration services at both the Carmine Cemetery and the La Bahia Cemetery have been cancelled.
Recycling Trailer
The recycling trailer will resume service on May 14. It will be located behind the Carmine Hall from noon until 4 p.m.
Accepted are dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, clean no. 1 and no. 2 food grade plastics, all colors of glass, steel food cans and aluminum cans. It is very helpful to have the recycled items separated. Attendants are available to help unload.
The trailer is in Ledbetter from 8:30-11 a.m., also on Thursdays, behind the Ledbetter Fireman’s Hall.
Carmine City Park
The walking trails remain open at the Carmine City Park. The playscapes and restrooms are still closed.
RT-C School News
Round Top-Carmine ISD planned to honor their 2020 senior class by having a senior parade on May 8. Parade participants were to have a police escort from the Round Top Rifle Association Hall to Carmine to pass in front of the high school where the seniors would be.
American Legion
American Legion Quade-Werchan Post 338 plan to have their June 4 meeting. Members are asked to watch for the monthly newsletter for possible changes.
JW’s Steakhouse
JW’s Steakhouse has opened for dine-in with restrictions. The take-out window is also available. Some antique stores have opened.

Carmine Volunteer Fire Department reminds everyone that if you plan a controlled burn, contact the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office at (979) 968-5856 to give them the location of the burn, your name and telephone number. In Washington County, call (979) 277-7373.
