Keep Founders Park
To the Editor:
My humble comment on the closing in of Founders Park:
It is indeed unfortunate that a decision has been made to close in and create offices in what is presently Founders Park on the Square. The decision for additional rest rooms in that space is a very good idea; however, losing the unique, open space is something that should have been given more thought and discussion.
Founders’ Park serves as a welcome spot for a brief respite while shopping or during a walk around the Square, and its attractiveness is certainly aesthetically pleasing. If more office space is a necessity, why not evaluate the usefulness of several vacant storefronts in and around the Square?
Hopefully the La Grange town Square will be able to keep Founders Park as the peaceful, quaint, heritage-preserving park that itis.
