“Just the Facts, Ma’am”

To the Editor:

What point is Ms. Hooper trying to make in her letter titled “Talk of Unity and Understanding” October 17, 2025? Is it some kind of new, weird reverse psychology? She accuses the Democrats of “silencing free speech” while the present administration is silencing free speech with accusations that the peaceful protesters are terrorists and sending troops into cities where they are not needed or wanted.

Trump is using his fear tactic. She writes that the Democrats “couldn’t care less about justice.” These are the facts, ma’am, the Justice Department and the F.B.I. have been weaponized by Trump to attack his perceived enemies who are folks who dare to speak the truth to power. She accuses the Democrats of trying to “hijack the press” while Trump is preventing the free press access to the Pentagon.

Yes ma’am, just the facts.
