International Plea

To The Editor:

Patriotic Americans in Fayette County and surrounding counties need to call upon their Congressman, Michael McCaul, today to take whatever actions needed to grant Ukraine as well as Sweden and Finland immediate membership in NATO. Without delay, enforce a narrow humanitarian no-fly zone to escape from areas where the Russians are committing mass executions of Ukrainian civilians or laying siege to areas where civilians are located (such as the bombed factory surrounded by Russians in Mariupol through which Putin ordered that not even a fly shall be allowed to pass.)

When Putin’s Soviet Union collapsed, America promised to protect the Ukrainian people in exchange for Ukraine giving up its nuclear weapons. We are not fully performing our promise.

The U.S. needs a goodpaying, job-creating renewable energy economy. The Democrat Build Back Better Plan would have helped make America independent of foreign oil joined with the ability to fuel all of Europe with our domestic natural gas. It would bring Russia to its knees and attain genuine national, military, economic, health, and environmental security for our country free of our huge annual taxpayer burden of providing free security for international oil companies in the Middle East. That renewable energy economy could have been funded for far less than the $7 trillion taxpayer dollars, much of it borrowed from the Red Chinese, that funded Cheney’s needless Iraqi War II for Big Oil, and that only served to embolden and strengthen Iran and Syria (where Trump, to get Turkey to cover up the Saudi Prince’s role in the brutal assassination of an American journalist, betrayed the Kurds fighting side by side with our American soldiers). It paved the way for ISIS in the Middle East and the resulting loss of millions of innocent lives.

For far too many years now, those monopolistic international oil companies are making obscene profits at the pump and paying very little in taxes and receiving needless direct and indirect subsidies and refusing to invest in controlling methane emissions poisoning the air we breathe and poisoning the water we drink with unregulated fracking waste that endanger our planet and human life almost as much as coal fired power plants.

Failure to take the above actions is nothing less than an unforgiveable disrespect for life and an egregious breach of God’s entrustment to us to be Good Stewards of His Creation.
