Impeachment Would Not Be Enough
To the Editor:
Last week, Retired Col. Richard Kemp, Commander of the British Forces in Afghanistan, was interviewed on national television and was asked his thoughts on how President Biden had handled the Afghanistan withdrawal. He said, “Biden should not be allowed to resign. Biden should not be impeached. Biden, as Commander of the U. S. Armed Forces should be court-martialed.” He added further that Biden had acted in the most devastating way in regards to the safety of the Allies, the interpreters and their families and other Afghans who had risked their lives over the years to help Americans do their job there, and to save American soldiers who, without Afghan help, would have been killed. In addition, he felt that Biden was totally “incompetent to command troops at all and should be held completely responsible for his debacle.” Additionally, 13 troops died unnecessarily and 170 men, women and children lost their lives as a result of the loss of “intelligence” that could have stopped the suicide bomber from breaching the check at the gate to Kabul’s city airport.
Although a court martial of the Commander in Chief of the U. S. Armed Forces in this case definitely seems appropriate since the Democrats will never allow “one of theirs” to be held responsible for such incompetence with impeachment, considering the aftermath of an impeachment with Kamala Harris and Nancy Pelosi in line for the offices of President and Vice President, it seems that a court martial of Biden will result in placing two more incompetent political figures into those two offices.
God bless America and God bless our men and women who serve so dutifully in the U.S. Armed Forces. We will, all of us, need God’s blessings to make it through the next 3 ½ years.
