On Immigration, Trump, More

To the editor:

The Fayette Co. Record had a plethora of recent letters to the Editor referencing of course, politics, ICE, immigration, Trump, etc etc. I would like to address a few of the things that were written.

My first response is to Mary Kendall Dawson. What a beautiful, touching, informative letter about immigration. I wish all foreigners trying to come live in the USA and all those here could read your words about doing it ‘legally,’ and why those who don’t are referred to as illegal aliens, not immigrants. You and yours should be applauded.

There is much to be said for things like being born in the US but neither parent being a citizen. There is much to be said about learning English and acclimating as our ancestors did verses just coming over expecting to have to do nothing. And you made some very thoughtfulremarks about non-citizens who want to go to college here. Thank you Ms. Dawson for sharing your experiences of the many trials and tribulations you faced trying to do the right thing to become a US citizen.

And to people who keep writing about Trump still not lowering prices, I say “bull!” He’s been in office a little over a year. Do you folks who like to complain about prices remember that all these prices went up the minute Joe Biden took office? And that we endured this for four years? YES! Four years. Somewhat hypocritical, no?

Some of you must have very short memories. Very similar to Democrats supporting Obama sending millions of illegals out of the US back to their countries, but now dissing President Trump with all you’ve got for doing the same.

Gas prices have come down tremendously, drug prices are on the way down, and many groceries prices have come down, and still are. And the stock market is at an all time, while inflation is down.

And more importantly than most anything is the thousands of children who were lost under Joe Biden and now being found and accounted for under Trump. Why do we ‘never’ hear the Democrats talk about this? Or the facts that drugs in the United States are no longer coming in at nearly the rate they were, and the drug cartel is being stopped left and right.

I would also like to ask you folks again, and you know who you are, if you have stopped receiving your social security checks, as many of you kept saying that President Trump was going to stop those checks. Now that’s a funny one.

It’s also reported murder is as low as it’s been in years. One writer noted that most murders are committed by US citizens, but did you ever consider that since US citizens outnumber illegal aliens by about 350 million to 20 million, or thereabouts, and that could be the reason?

However, many US citizens would still be alive if these illegal murderers had never been let in to our country by Biden and Harris in the first place. But for four years, under Joe Biden , anyone was able to cross our borders, and that was without any vetting. Just let them walk in, they said.

And now, ICE and border patrol get crucified by the liberal left for doing a Congress voted in job that tries to protect American citizens from evil people who should not be here.

Many illegal aliens may not be criminals, but they didn’t follow protocol, they still broke the law and should be held accountable. For those of you who bellow about kids being separated from their illegal parents, well, what do you think happens to US criminal parents and children when they go to jail? If protestors would only protest, instead of getting in the middle of ICE operations, taunting and cursing and spitting and throwing items at these ICE agents, maybe people would still be alive. I know if someone was driving a vehicle right towards me I imagine I would do whatever necessary to stop it. And this is what some call ‘peaceful protest?’

Peaceful protests do not include all the things these protestors are doing.

We all see the same things, burning cars, protestors throwing bricks and rocks, breaking windows, stomping on and smashing cars, hurling projectiles at peace officers for doing their jobs. To say what some of these protestors do is ‘peaceful’ is simply ludicrous, but backed by the left only because the liberal left so hate Trump.

As for one letter to editor commenting on dressing like a hippie, I have no problem whatsoever with that.

I just think when one goes to work, especially when it’s a government job , example postal carriers, I do not think that is the time to wear sandals, untucked shirts and other questionable attire. We are losing all dignity and respect in our country.
