Immigration Laws Exist for a Reason

To the editor:

As with all opinions, we all find our own is, most likely, correct, valuable and of great importance. I’ll be short.

If I got on a plane to say, Toronto, Canada, to New Zealand, Italy, or Monaco, and I desired to secretly become a citizen to any of these places, it would be illegal of me to think I could just sneak in, get a job, live and just become a citizen and hope that no one would notice. You see, I am breaking that particular country’s law. I would be a criminal and I would know it.

So, you see, this is how I see immigration here in the United States. If it is not through the proper channel and laws established, it is criminal. Period.

Some spoke of white privilege. Really. It might be good practice to avoid being distasteful, classless, and offensive in the future. The above countries I mentioned, they are majority white. I highly doubt they view themselves as white privilege. But we’d have to ask them wouldn’t we?

Laws get established for a reason. Lots of reasons. If someone doesn’t prefer to be a criminal then follow the law and be law-abiding. Period.
