Illegal Trash Dumping Happening in Muldoon

There has been a rash of illegal trash dumping lately. This is not only unsightly, but very harmful to everything around. Creeks and roadside ditches have run off that not only wildlife use, but also the area cattle. This can be the only drinking source for some pastures and with all the used bedding, appliances and electronics being dumped this only poisons the drinking source. And this does not even include the unsightliness of the dumping.

If you see someone dumping on the side of the road, please call it in and let the adjacent property owner know so they can be aware of the situation. There are facilities available for proper disposal of used goods. Mattresses and TVs do not belong alongside the roads. Muldoon has some beautiful drives and this is so destructive to the land and to the community itself. We all have to take pride in where we live and protect it.

Dana and Darrell Kulak traveled to Brenham to visit Dana’s mom, Virginia Tappe for Mother’s Day. She lives alone and they wanted to make sure she had a nice Mother’s Day and also make sure she was doing ok.

Lane Rightmer was in from her studies in Waco. She wanted to wish her mom, Jennifer Rightmer a Happy Mother’s Day and get a breath of country air.

Community Yard Sale

Karen Jacobs is working on getting a community wide yard sale in the works. She is planning it for Friday and Saturday and has opened it to all who want to come and setup and sell all the things they have culled out while in isolation.

Plans are to set up in front of her store and the Forsythe’s and she will have several awnings available, but people can bring their own. They also will need to provide their own tables to display their goodies they have to sell.

Anyone can be a part of the event for one or both days. The only rules to be followed be the ones set by the Fayette County officials at this time. These may include masks and hand sanitizer. For more information or to reserve your space, call Karen at (281) 682-5625.

Rain

Muldoon has been blessed by rain this week. At the time of this writing two and one half inches have fallen in the area. This was some much needed spring rain and has brightened up the grass bringing it on for those who are raising hay and for summer grazing. There is more, much more predicted for the upcoming weekend.
