How About Litter Barrels?

To The Editor:

I have no solution for dumped furniture and large trash bags, but I do have a suggestion for the small pieces of trash from fast food places and the small pieces of trash that accumulate in people’s cars. LITTER BARRELS.

There used to be signs along every highway stating, “Litter Barrel One Mile.” Since all of the roadside parks with litter barrels closed, there is no place to dispose of car trash except at gas stations and car washes. I believe that every place that sells food to go, should provide a litter barrel on the edge of their property.

In Smithville, the Dairy Queen has a litter barrel that I use anytime I buy food there. If there is a litter barrel in La-Grange, I haven’t noticed it.
