Houses Are Gone, But Not the Weeds

To the Editor:

Better late than never. After being submerged in Hurricane Harvey’s flood waters in August 2017, all but two of the ruined houses on Country Club Drive are now gone. It took almost six years, but at least these eyesores and rodent havens are finally down.

We’ve had three different county judges during this period, trying to get the Texas General Land Office off the dime. Let’s give Judge Dan Mueller and the commissioners court credit for staying with it. Thanks, guys.

Now about those high weeds on these vacant lots you now own…
