Gospel Music at The La Grange Opry
My wife and I attended the opry on Oct. 18 at the K of C Hall in La Grange. The venue consisted of Bernard (Napy) Gabler, Wayne Beseda, and the D’ Vine testament. We listened to gospel music for approximately three hours.
I was amazed listening and pondering on how each group put their whole heart and soul into their music. Each one had a story as to why one song or another was so true and dear to them. A parent or loved one passing, whom they truly loved, was embedded in every note. Their singing was crisp and sometimes saddening. The past cannot be attained, the present should be spent wisely, and the future held on to so we may once again be united with the ones we lost and truly love.
Everyone there applauded with sincerity. We all know and feel the loss of someone in our lives. We need Christian music in our lives to ease the pain. Christianity should never be lost in our lives. Without Christianity life has little or no meaning. We need to live and die for what means the most.
