Get Off Your Behind

To the Editor:

Paradigm (which The Record has covered for its problems running safe nursing homes) is still open. Why are they still playing stupid and uninformed? That along with the fact the former manager has been indicted should be more than enough for our elected officials to have responded with more than “we’re looking into allegations” one would think. When is enough enough? How many more helpless old women need to be harmed at this place before they get off their elected behinds?

All those in charge of oversight of this “hole” should be made to stay there and experience it until something is done. Shame upon all of them, State and Federal.

Our wonderful Governor is busy with the many horrible events in the Hill Country, bless their souls, but there are things like this others are being paid to take care of simultaneously. Can you imagine being confined there, alone, old, weak and without protection from nearly 30 sexual predators? Can you envision the despair and terror at night?

Now look at your wife, mother or other loved one and imagine it being them. Imagine when you are raped and need help, and the manager and staff never do a thing. Where is the outcry? Where is the concern of all of us that are aware of this travesty?

Get off your behinds and show some concern. Please!
