Get to Work, County
To The Editor:
Fayette County government, the article in the local paper about the trash problem in the area was nothing but hot air. You are not doing anything to fix the trash issue. I have been in contact with the City, County, State and keep getting finger pointing, or “not my job” type answers. I called TxDOT and spoke with an employee who told me that they were told by the director to ignore the trash on the side of the highway when they are cutting. So they just cut over the trash and make the trash worse. I did talk with a couple of people in certain areas that do keep their parts of the county clean, and they do, but not this government.
Why do you continue to ignore the request of the people about the trash problem, over grown yards, etc? The property next to my house has not been cut in over two years now. I have reported this to the city plenty of times. I called the owners of the property to find out they sold the property. Called the state and they do not have record of the new owner. I say, cut the property, and bill the owners. Turn it in to a park. Something…
I have called, sent email which y’all are ignoring me completely now. Y’all just seem to want to collect a check and sit back on your seat. Get up and do something. Make a change. Don’t just talk the talk, walk the walk. Not one of you has stepped up to say, “You are right Mr./Mrs. Fayette County resident, we need to get this fixed, let’s get our different groups, City, County, State, TxDOT to get crews together to take care of this. Then the people might want to join you to help. As for TxDOT, that can be fixed in five minutes, let that director know that most of the time before you go cut a property, you collect the trash so you don’t make more of a mess.
With all the new business coming to Central Texas, Tesla, Facebook, File studio, possibly Twitter now, there is going to be more people and more revenue. We need to be ready and look good. And it won’t take that much to make it happen.
