Focus on Real Problem

To The Editor:

Patty Reid’s letter to the editor of Friday, July 15, brought up some really fine and truly controversial points. The point mentioned regarding the documentary “2000 Mules” was one of the political footballs mentioned. I suspect that controversy will continue for quite a while.

Regardless of one’s personal opinions regarding the accusations of voter fraud in the 2020 election, the fact remains that Joe Biden is President of the United States. It’s the President’s responsibility to make decisions to protect the citizens of this country.

Since he took office, Biden has cancelled the Keystone Pipeline, offshore oil leases, and Alaska oil and gas leases. When he took office this country was energy independent. Today we are not producing enough oil to meet the needs of this country. Fuel prices are higher than ever. It’s absolutely not Putin’s fault. The President recently returned from a trip to Saudi Arabia where he went begging that country to produce more oil. How humiliating was that?

His actions have crippled this nation’s food supply chain to the extent that we are being warned that Americans could face severe food shortages in the coming months. Our economy is in shambles and inflation is rampant. Food prices are soaring.

Our southern border is wide open and immigrants are crossing into this country unabated and illegally.

Somewhere along the way reasonable people – regardless of political affiliation – need to ask the politicians in Washington D.C. why they are not addressing these soon-to-be life and death vital issues. It’s time to stop blaming those “on the other side of the aisle” and do something other than argue and accuse.
