Flag Etiquette

To the Editor:

Instead of half-staff, my feeling is those killed in Kabul should have been honored by flying the flag upside down, as the Department of Defense says the flag should only be flown upside down “to convey a sign of distress or great danger.” For the heroes, their families, and indeed our entire country, these are certainly times of distress.

However, that being said, I would trust Mr. Weber’s judgment a million times over that bunch of nuts in Washington.
