Feedback Sought On New Center

To the Editor:

I am writing to get feedback on the need for a pregnancy center in Fayette County. This center would help women and families to get free assistance with their unplanned pregnancies, assist families with education of parenting, and have the community involved in helping people in need. This would be an organization to help females decide to carry their baby to term and become a parent, or place the baby for adoption with a legitimate agency. If the female chooses to terminate the pregnancy, we would refer them to the appropriate organization.

I recently volunteered for an agency known as New Beginnings Pregnancy Center in Brenham. The assistance they provide the community is amazing. I am learning to use proper verbiage when counseling a pregnant female and offer assistance to help them determine their options. A non-profit permit has already been applied for. The name would be We Care in Texas, Inc.

I realize there will be various opinions on this topic, and I am prepared to hear them. I, along with several other ladies in our community, are positive there is a need for this agency in Fayette County and are moving forward to start this organization. We will have a board of directors and volunteers to start with the hope of having paid staff in the future. We will be sending letters to the churches in our community to see if they are willing to work with us. We welcome anyone’s input on this potential agency, and are welcoming volunteers.
