Fear or Faith

To the Editor:

I’ve got some news for you, it’s probably not going to sit very well but it’s something you really need to hear: you’re going to die and there’s nothing that you can do to stop it. Masks won’t protect you from it, disinfectants won’t prevent it and a vaccine won’t cure it. The shadow of death forever hangs over the head of the human experience and worrying about it won’t add a day to your life.

There are those who will reject this, mostly billionaires, entertainers, media personalities and politicians, but those people all have something to gain from our fear. Whether by buying their products, watching their programming, selling their ads or taking away our rights, they all stand to profit from our fear.

Some will say that the opposite of faith is unbelief but I’m here to tell you that fear is the opposite of faith. The Bible tells us that “God has not given us a spirit of fear” so as believers we are to reject fear knowing that it’s source is not from our Father who loves us but from the enemy who only desires to steal, kill and destroy.

If you are a believer struggling with fear, I encourage you to turn off your TV and open your Bible to the 23rd Psalm, read and repeat.
