Excitement in La Grange

To the Editor:

I’m sure there were a number of people excited to see some activity in the town of La Grange. A shooting at the Star Bar was more excitement then they were used to happening. I’m sure they were equally amazed that one of the past candidates for county judge was the shooter in question. I guess I’ve lead a fairly dull life since knowing you don’t bring a loaded, or unloaded, gun into a drinking establishment.

It is was also amazing that this same past candidate was so apologetic with the emotional statement given to The Fayette County Record. All people that could be sentenced to stretches in prison claim they are contrite in their actions. Kind of like the child caught with his hand in the cookie jar and trying to explain how he was not to blame.

What most people want to know is what he was doing at the Star Bar with a loaded gun. If he felt there was a bad element waiting for him there or was it just one of those things that he forgot he was carrying a loaded gun? It must have been pretty exciting after the discharge and striking a human being.

I’m sure the woman who was struck is not so willing to forgive.
