Election Results Look Look Suspicious

To the Editor:

Contention of election results has monopolized the news for several days. In a close race, an accurate count should be a mandate. Some delay in determining the next president was expected because of the unprecedented number of mail-in-ballots. The pandemic prompted more than 228 lawsuits according to Justin Levitt, a law professor at Loyola Marymount who specializes in election law. Al Gore got his day in court and so should President Trump.

Several news sources report multiple states remain undecided six days after Election Day, November 3, 2020. The Trump campaign has reacted to accusations of corruption and fraud. “The truth of what happened in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin remains to be seen.” The objective of the Trump’s litigations is to count every legal vote. One of the post-election comments I read said, “Trump didn’t have a disastrous Presidency. He never started a war. The economy was soaring before COVID and is climbing back up rapidly, in spite of COVID. Support for Trump mirrors support for Obama in 2008. Trump’s votes make sense.

Where there is voter fraud there is voter suppression. Any suspicion of voting fraud must be investigated in order to preserve confidence in the voting process and will take time, beginning with who can legally vote. We have heard from eyewitnesses regarding irregular processing of ballots and irregularities imposed on poll watchers. We have clear examples of dead people voting. States called for Biden when a ridiculously low percentage of votes were counted (Virginia 1%, Arizona 7%, etc.).

Regardless of whether you’re a Democrat or a Republican, you cannot with a straight face say that this doesn’t look suspicious. Legal votes decide who is president.

Without fair elections there is no freedom.
