Elected to Serve Not Control

To the Editor:

Those elected in the county are county servants, not county leaders. Just as a boss in a business is master over his hired employees, we are master over those we hire by election to serve.

And just as a boss would quickly fire a gung-ho employee trying to exert power over their boss, we should just as soon fire elected servants who overstep their tiny box of elected duty.

We are the master, and they the servants. Servants do not control what we must wear, eat, or inject into ourselves the form of shots. Servants listen to the master, and in running for election and taking the oath of office, these servants agree that they will lawfully serve in their position.

I hope more people will start realizing they’ve let themselves turn from master to servant, hanging on to an elected servant’s words as if they were an emperor, and all because of their own ignorance.
