Easy on the Trees, FEC

To the editor:

My heart is breaking for the trees in Fayette County, Texas. The trimmers hired by Fayette Electric aren’t trimmers at all. They are butchers. Their environmental destruction is like that of the invaders in the children’s book, Wump World by Bill Peet.

I was told that the trees are being trimmed 20 feet. That simply is not true. In some of the areas I’ve seen, trees have been cut down to the ground. In any event they are split and butchered.

Fayette Electric and other companies responsible for easement clearing should be ashamed of themselves in my opinion.
