Crowning of SchützenKönig and Dance Set for Sept. 21

Fall Antique & Design Show There is less than a month away from opening day of the FallAntique and Design Show here in Round Top. Tents are going up and vendors are getting ready for the 2-week event. The official show dates are Oct. 4-18, but check your favorite vendors, as some might have varying dates, and some places are opening earlier than that.

There are always tons of events going on – think live music, special dinners, and fashion shows – so keep an eye out if that’s your kind of thing. Sites like exploreroundtop. com and roundtop.com are great sources for all things “antique show.”

Caspar & Gerard’s Fall 2025 Antique Show is open a little earlier than the rest – this Saturday, Sept. 15 you can check them out beginning at 8 a.m. They’re located at 3570 Hwy 237.

Ribbon Cutting Celebration The Ribbon Cutting Celebration for Oak Bones Wedding Venue will be held on Friday, Sept. 19, is located at 2117 FM 1457, beginning at 6 p.m. Enjoy live music, drinks, dancing, and an evening full of joy. Come check out the new space.

Holiday House Preview 

The Paul Michael Company Holiday House Preview is set for Saturday, Sept. 27 from 5-9 p.m. Be the first to experience the magic of Christmas. Enjoy drinks, festive times and early shopping. Round Top Rifle Hall 

The next Monday night hamburger social will be Sept. 15. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Come out for a night of delicious burgers and community. Proceeds benefit the RTRHA.

Round Top Family Library September’s lineup of events includes yoga, story time, Kids’ Junior Master Gardener, chair yoga, chess club, taekwondo, “Shakespeare through Performance”, and STEAM classes. Winedale 

The Friends of Winedale will bring Octavio Quintanilla, Poet Laureate of Texas, to the Winedale Historical Complex on Sunday, Sept. 21 for a presentation at 3 p.m. The presentation will take place in the Meadows Building at 3837 FM 2417 with a reception, catered by Royers, to follow in the Terry Dining Room. The Round Top Family Library is co-sponsor of the event. While in town, Mr. Quintanilla will also present a program at Round Top – Carmine High School.

Octavio Quintanilla is the founder and director of VersoFrontera, publisher of Alabrava Press, and former poet laureate of San Antonio. His Frontextos (visual poems) have been published and exhibited widely. His poetry collection Book of Wounded Sparrows was longlisted for the National Book Award and Las Horas Imposibles/The Impossible Hours received the 2024 Ambroggio Prize from the Academy of American Poets. He teaches literature and creative writing at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, and was recently inducted into the Texas Institute of Letters.

The State of Texas has chosen a poet laureate continually since 1932 when the state legislature selected Judd Mortimer Lewis, a poet and newspaper columnist for the Houston Post. Mr. Quintanilla’s term covers 2025 and 2026. Friends of Winedale is a 501(c)3 organization that supports programming and improvements at the historic complex located four miles from Round Top. The group provides financial and volunteer resources to support the preservation of Winedale and its use for public programs, teaching, and research. The site, under the direction of the Briscoe Center for American History at the University of Texas, is home to several historic structures and beautiful natural features. Festival Hill 

Celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month with the nationally award-winning mariachi ensemble from University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Saturday, Sept. 27, enjoy at 3 p.m. concert in the Festival Concert Hall. Lunch is available with reservations.

St. John’s Lutheran Church St. John’s is part of the Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County. They meet for Sunday Worship at 8:30 a.m.

RT Christian Fellowship Round Top Church meets at 8:45 a.m. for Bible Study, followed by a 10 a.m. service.

St. Cecilia’s Episcopal Church Worship services are held Sundays at 8:45 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. at the Haw Creek Chapel in Henkel Square.
