Criticism of Biden

To the Editor:

This morning’s Monday morning message from retired Col. Allen West, made me think about the letter in last Friday’s Fayette County Record written by a voter for Biden denying “buyer’s remorse.” She preposterously offers an “answer for the majority of Americans,” which can only be an introduction to her “alternative facts.” Biden’s current overall “approval rating” based on several pollster reports has not risen above 62% for the last month and is currently slightly over 53%, not 63%.

The loss of the Keystone Pipeline and the suspension of oil and gas leases in Alaska limit America’s energy independence and jobs. According to the Anchorage Daily News, “The U.S. Geological Survey has estimated that the coastal plain could hold 8 billions of barrels of oil. Alaska leaders have long sought to allow drilling in the area, about 8% of the 19-million-acre refuge. A major oil discovery would boost jobs, state revenues and help keep oil flowing in the 800-mile trans-Alaska pipeline. The current administration is promoting unsustainable alternative fuels such as wind and solar power without proof that these systems are sustainable, cost effective or appropriate. Where’s the balance?

Trump brought border confusion under control and came closer than any previous administration in offering a “viable solution” to the proliferation of illegal migration. Why did Biden reverse Trump’s policy? Hasn’t his 50+ years in government alerted him to the problems of illegal immigrants? Biden’s current policy has resulted in disaster declarations for at least 7 counties in Texas due to record levels of illegal immigrants. According to the Daily Wire, “President Biden’s open-border policies have paved the way for dangerous gangs and cartels, human traffickers, and deadly drugs like fentanyl to pour into our communities,” Abbott said in a statement Tuesday, June 1. “Meanwhile, landowners along the border are seeing their property damaged and vandalized on a daily basis while the Biden Administration does nothing to protect them.”

I strongly disagree Biden’s leadership is directing America to a “sense of normalcy.” Of those he has selected or allowed to be part of his administration, it is very hard to find anyone who will put “people ahead of personal promotion.”
