COVID Thoughts

To the Editor:

I’m curious why the Record has yet to cover the CDC coming out and saying only 6% of these so-called COVID deaths actually have COVID-19 as the only cause of death. The other whopping 96% had, on average, 2.6 other serious illnesses. Instead, all I see is fear-mongering on nearly every page of the paper. Death here, death there. COVID kills here, COVID avoided there. It’s maddening, enough to get someone sick from all the anxiety, worry, and debilitating fear that they may die if they go to the doctor for a serious issue, not to mention separation issues from society. We’re not meant to be forced apart, unable to give affection, unable to make memories with family, friends, and share our existence with others.

If you believe there really is a new virus come to kill us all, but of course not while sitting, eating, in a big box store, or if you’re Nancy Pelosi going to get your hair done, then that means just a little over 12,000 deaths had COVID-19 as the only cause in these United States.

In the 2019-2020 flu season here, the CDC says there were at least 24,000 deaths. That’s nearly twice as many flu deaths than there have been deaths with COVID-19 as the only cause. The numbers show COVID-19 is half as death-causing as the seasonal flu, yet I’ve never once seen the entire Earth masking up, spacing out, becoming loners, and being unable to see their family and friends during the flu season.

Something’s going on here, and it’s not for the good of our well-being.
