Of Common Sense and Good Citizenship
To The Editor:
There is much ado about “freedom of speech” among those who feast on nonsense and brazen porkies -- Ivermectin, Hydroxychloroquine, imaginary election irregularities, and other well disproven conspiracy theories.
Rational people remain in shock, for example, at rejection of the wisdom of the world-wide medical community and the embrace of “Political Pseudo-Medicine.” People with no medical training and contrary to common sense follow prevaricators and frauds. Forbes recently published a good summary of this phenomenon with sage advice: https://www.forbes.com/sites/ stevensalzberg/2021/11/01/ivermectin-still-doesnt-treatcovid-19/
Good citizenship means the responsible use of our constitutional rights. Assaulting the First Amendment and using it as a misguided weapon is an insult to freedom of speech and freedom of the press, and a danger to our republic.
