To the Editor:

St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church is ringing its bell for the first time in over 50 years.

The members of St. James deeply appreciate and are very thankful for the support and love shown to us. We never thought that we would be faced with so many obstacles, COVID-19, not being able to hold worship services in our Church, having to cancel all of the projects and activities we had in place to raise the funds needed to do the work at St. James, but God stepped in with your love and support we have been able to do the unthinkable, though we are not finished these are the things you have help us accomplish: leveling of the church and parsonage, in new carpet in the church, new flooring for the bathrooms and entryway, securing the balcony and adding a safety rail, painting and repairing the outside of the church and, yes, hearing the bell at St James ring again.

You have our hearts. There are so many to thank. Whatever you did large or small to help St. James, God Bless you.

We still have work to do, but we have made great strides with your help and support as we start the next phase. Please keep us in mind and in your prayers.
