Carmine Night Out to Be Held Oct. 15
Carmine Night Out will be held on Oct. 15 at the Carmine Fire Station, beginning at 6 p.m. Speakers will include dignitaries from the county and city.
It will include a flag retirement ceremony. Bins for these flags are located at JW’s Steakhouse, Village Market and Carmine State Bank. You may deposit American, Texas or flags of any branch of the military.
RT-C School News
Round Top-Carmine High School varsity volleyball team defeated Fayetteville in three sets on Sept. 22. Both JV and Jr. High teams won in two sets.
Varsity defeated Burton in three sets on Sept. 25.
Carmine VFD
The Carmine Volunteer Fire Department drill night is Oct. 8.
With the cooler weather, have someone check your propane heaters. Make sure to keep space heaters away from combustible items.

Harvest Festival
The annual Harvest Festival of Martin Luther Lutheran Church will be held on Oct. 18 at the Carmine Hall. Confirmation class recognitions will not be held this year. The worship service is at 10:15 a.m. at the hall with the Praise Team leading Country Gospel songs.
Kettle fried chicken meal will be drive-through only from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Call the church at (979) 278-3388 to reserve tickets and for more information.
MLLC News
Rebekah Group meets Thursday at 2 p.m.
Saturday worship service with Holy Communion is at 6 p.m.
Sunday School is Sunday at 9 a.m.
Sunday worship with Holy Communion is at 10 a.m. Prepackaged wafer and juice kits are being used. The service will also be on the mllccarmine.com website. The Rev. David Tinker is the pastor.
Christian Ed and Property Committees meet after worship.
AA meets Sunday at 5 p.m.
Quilting for Lutheran World Relief is Monday at 9 a.m.
Visitors’ Center
The Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second and fourth Fridays and Saturdays of the month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Recycling
The Recycling trailer is at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from noon until 4 p.m.
Items accepted are dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, clean no. 1 and no. 2 food grade plastics, all colors glass, steel food cans and aluminum cans. It is very helpful to have the recycled items separated. Attendants are available to help unload.
They kindly ask that you please wait to drop off items until they are open.
The trailer is in Ledbetter from 8:30 to 11 a.m., also on Thursdays, behind the Ledbetter Fireman’s Hall.
