Bluebonnet Incident

To the editor:

We visited Kreische Brewery Historic Site on Monday and stayed at the Best Western Motel Monday night where we received a complimentary copy of The Fayette County Record with a picture of a field of bluebonnets between La Grange and Ellinger. We headed home to Richmond this morning and decided we would stop to see the field. We were greeted with an angry man screaming and cursing at us that we were on private property. I guess the owner was tired of the publicity your paper gave his property.

We love La Grange and the Kreische Brewery and love the hospitality we have received in the city at Kreische and the local restaurants. We don’t believe one angry man is representative of your fine city, and your paper should have mentioned that the field was private property. Next year maybe he should charge admittance.
