Biden Was Better on Oil

To the Editor:

Trump took office on January 20, 2025. Active U.S. drilling rigs stood at 580. On Aug. 1, active drilling rigs were 540.

This is a decrease of 40 drilling rigs, an 8% decrease. Way to go Donald. Promise made, promise broken.

President Joe Biden took office in January 2021 with 378 active drilling rigs. President Joe Biden left office in January 2025 with 580 active drilling rigs.

This is an increase of 202 drilling rigs an increase of 53%. Oil production in January 2021 was 12,851,000 barrels per day. Oil production in January 25 was 13,438,000 barrels per day an increase of 587,000 barrels per day. President Joe Biden left office with U.S. oil production at an all-time record high.

Sorry Donald, you do not measure up. Drill baby drill title goes to President Joe Biden.
