Biden Off to a Rough Start

To the Editor:

Biden’s administration from day one threatened America’s freedom and has made a mockery of truth, transparency, and unity. As of March 10, the day before his first address to the nation, he had signed 69 Executive Orders, Memorandums, and Actions.

H.R. 1, called the “For the People Act of 2021, was passed by Democrats in House of Representatives in Washington, D.C. What part of this bill is for the people? According to several legislators, it is unconstitutional. According to major news agencies, this bill includes the restructuring of the Federal Election Commission (FEC) as a “partisan majority-rule campaign regulatory agency.”

The Biden administration says this bill is “urgently needed to protect the right to vote and the integrity of our elections, and to repair and strengthen American democracy.” It doesn’t do any of these things.

It is not needed. It does not protect the right to vote or election integrity. It is not representative of democratic privilege and cannot strengthen democracy or, our Constitutional Republic. It requires redistricting to be removed from state legislatures and put in the hands of an unaccountable “independent state commission” made up of “academics, public officials, and private citizens.” Mr. Biden says he will sign it if it reaches his desk but can he or will he read all 800 pages of it?

On March 5, Biden added insult to injury by signing an executive order increasing voter registration access for criminals “in prison and on probation.” Biden refers to these individuals as “eligible voters.”

On a second front, because “Biden invited them,” there is a renewed crisis at the Texas-Mexico border. According to Congressman McCaul, “Throughout the month of February, about 2,200 unaccompanied minors have illegally crossed our border weekly – that is a 45% increase from the previous year. Our border is reaching a breaking point.” The Biden administration has reopened a 66-acre facility in Carrizo Springs TX to “temporarily hold as many as 700 migrant children ages 13-17.”

Since the Federal Government won’t fulfill its Constitutional authority to protect American citizens, why can’t Texans finish the wall and protect Texas citizens from the insurgence of illegal immigrants?

The members of Congress each took an oath to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic….”.. H.R. 1 and immigration policies of this administration are opposed to these principles and Congressmen and women have violated their oaths. Their actions demonstrate their “oaths” mean nothing to them. By dishonoring their oaths, they have become “domestic enemies” and are not “bearing true allegiance” to the Constitution of the U.S.
