Animal Shelter Experience
To the Editor:
I am a proud Texan and proud to love and serve here in Fayette County.
I drive to La Grange regularly and I stopped in at the Gardenia Janssen Animal Shelter as I have ample time to volunteer my services as a dog-walker. I spoke with at least four ladies while I received the application and I properly filled out the paperwork. They were very excited for me to start dog-walking. They told me to send an email to the scheduler, so I did.
Nada. Nothing. Never heard a thing.
I am completely thrown off by them not wanting me when they were very accepting while I filled out the application. So, to see they are wanting volunteers in the paper, I have no pity. And, if people really believe that $78 is “not that much” when it comes to spay/neuter of cats/dogs, I’d like to inform them that they are uninformed.
I’d like to propose a thought. Try $10 spay/neuter and see what you get. Or, here’s another thought – try a free will donation day of spay/ neuter and see what you get.
