Campbell Cooper Emerges as a Sophomore Star for Lady Leps

Campbell Cooper is just a sophomore but she has emerged as a force for the La Grange girls basketball team. She has led the team in scoring several games this season and she really excelled Tuesday, scoring a team-high 19 points as the Lady Leps came from behind to beat Gonzales 40-36.

LG’s Garry Dippel To Be Inducted Into UTRGV Athletics Hall of Fame

Forty-four years after he was a star for the University of Texas-Pan American baseball team, La Grange native Garry Dippel’s name is still all over the school’s record books. The school, now called The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, has announced that it is inducting Dippel, along with some of the school’s other greats, into its 2025 Athletics Hall of Fame class.

Lady Leps Rally to Defeat Gonzales by Four

Thanks to a big scoring night from Campbell Cooper and a strong team-wide defensive performance, the La Grange Lady Leps came from behind at home Tuesday to defeat Gonzales 40-36. Cooper scored a teamhigh 19 points as the Lady Leps improved to 5-3 this season.

La Grange High School Swim Team Shines at TISCA South Meet

The La Grange High School swim team competed in their first two-day meet of the season at the TISCA 4A and Under South Meet in San Antonio on November 22–23. This meet served as a preview for February’s state championship, featuring top 4A teams from across the State.

The 2024-2025 La Grange Boys Varsity Basketball Team

Shown here are the members of the La Grange boys varsity basketball team which has started the season with a 2-1 record, including wins over Sealy and Taylor. Last year in their first year under coach Trent Collier, the Leps went 25-10 and won the district title. They return five varsity players from that team. The Leps return to the court Tuesday at Hallettsville. The Leps are also hosting a basketball tournament this week, Thursday-Saturday, called the Schmeckenfest Shootout.
