Leps Blast Lexington 71-48

With the start of district play still weeks away, the La Grange boys basketball team has already built an impressive record this season. Tuesday the Leps led wire-to-wire to beat Lexington 71-48 and improve to 11-4 this season.

‘Horns Go 2-2 at Home Tournament

Schulenburg boys went 2-2 at the Schulenburg Tournament, beating Hempstead 51-39 and beating Yoakum 56-51, but losing to El Campo 51-41, and losing to Sealy 67-52. Byron Johnson scored a team-high 16 on the win overt Yoakum and 10 in the win over Hempstead. The Shorthorns are 5-5 overall and host Brazos Tuesday.

Lady Bulldogs Roll to Home Tourney Title

The Flatonia girls basketball team improved to 13-1 overall by sweeping through four games last week to win their home tourney title. The Lady Bulldogs dominated Bryan St. Joseph’s. Bartlett, Giddings and Smithville on the way to that title. The Lady Dogs are back in action Tuesday at home vs. Bloomington for the district home opener.
