No matter how good your 2024 has started, it hasn’t been as good as the new year for the La Grange girls basketball team. The Lady Leps began 2024 with a 34-point win over Caldwell Tuesday, but that was just a warm-up for Friday’s 76-3 win over Austin Achieve.
The La Grange boys basketball team stayed atop the district standings with a 72-39 road victory at Austin Achieve Friday. The victory, La Grange’s seventh in a row, improves the Leps to 16-8 overall and 3-0 in district.
The La Grange Leopards squeaked out a win against Caldwell Tuesday in a 52-51 match that came down to the last seconds. The Leps (15-8 overall and now 2-0 in district) struggled to find their rhythm in their first game back from the New Year’s break.
Freshman Campbell Cooper scored 27 points to lead the Lady Leps to a 51-17 trashing of Caldwell Tuesday afternoon in La Grange. The La Grange girls led 16-7 after the first quarter and never looked back.
