Orsak
Ignac Jerome Orsak (Ike) was born on Dec. 23,1942 to Edith (Vasek) and Ike Orsak. He was called home to his Heavenly Father on March 1, 2026 at the age of 83.
Ignac, a 1961 graduate of Fayetteville High School, married his 8th-grade sweetheart, Geraldine Smidovec Orsak, on July 8, 1962. Following graduation, he immediately began working, dedicating many years to his chosen trade. Their marriage was built upon a foundation of faith, family, and hard work.
Ignac’s career was diverse, beginning with roles at JMH, Tex-Tube, and General Electric. In 1965, he started his own dairy. Later, he worked as a mechanic for Drymalla Construction before becoming self-employed, owning and operating Lone Oak Garage. Ignac and Geraldine continued their legacy of dedication and service when they proudly purchased Orsak’s Cafe in 1985, which they ran until their retirement in 2002. Ike deeply valued the strong relationships and friendships that were formed and grew through the cafe, cherishing them throughout his life.
Ignac was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose family was his greatest source of pride and joy. He found pleasure in working with cattle, raising and showing giant runt pigeons, and was skilled at building or fixing anything he set his mind to. Ike was a member of the KJT lodge and the Knights of Columbus in Fayetteville.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Geraldine Orsak. He is also survived by his daughters and their husbands, Jan Orsak and Fred Everson, and Karen and Wayne Peschel.
Among his grandchildren are JW Evans and his wife CeCe; Mavrick Evans and his wife Valerie; Jordan Evans and her fiancé Trevor Smith; Jesse Evans; Rebecca Haney and her husband Aaron; Kyle Peschel and his fiancé Avery Oliver; and Carson Peschel and his special friend, Catherine Sampey.
He was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Davina Evans, Charley Evans, Cooper Evans, Carina Evans, Kasyn Evans, Wrenlee Smith, Thomas Evans, and Berkley Haney.
Ignac is also survived by his sister, Angie Orsak Pavlicek, and her husband, Steve. He leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends, as well as his beloved and loyal fur baby, Bandit, who was his best friend and riding companion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ike and Edith Orsak; his brother, baby Orsak; and his grandparents, Caroline and Louis Vasek, and Julie and William Orsak.
Ike leaves a lasting legacy, embodied in the family and friends he cherished. He will be deeply missed and remembered for the quiet strength that defined his life, his unwavering dedication to his family, and his powerful work ethic.
