Pin Oak Cemetery to Hold Fall Cleanup and Meeting Oct. 17

The Pin Oak Cemetery will be holding their fall clean up and meeting on Saturday, Oct. 17 from 9 a.m. - noon. They ask you bring your lawn mowers and tools to help with making this historic cemetery look nice going into the end of the year.

A business meeting will be held following the clean up to discuss future improvements to the cemetery. The Cherry family has donated a beautiful new pavilion in the cemetery. They are dedicating it to Cheser Cherry, who was a loyal volunteer and helped preserve this historic cemetery.

Here is the chance to come out, help with the upkeep of a local historic cemetery, do some “in your own community” service and learn so much more about the history of the area. Those who come out have some wonderful stories to pass on about those who are laid to rest in this old cemetery.

Church News

On Tuesday mornings there is a Ladies’ Bible study at Stray Gathering Cowboy Church beginning on at 10 a.m. The study they are undertaking is “Nothing is Impossible with God.” Stop by and check out what they are up to any Tuesday morning and expand your knowledge of God and the Bible.

Out and About

Dana and Darrell Kulak enjoyed a weekend of having their kids and grandkids come in for some time in the country. Elton and Miko Kulak and their sons Henry and Calvin come in from Midlothian. Daughter Cynthia Kulak and her boyfriend August Knobbe also came in from the Fort Worth area to enjoy a nice family gathering.

Traffic

Oil field traffic has been running the roads of Muldoon again. There are a lot more trucks traveling through the area and some are moving faster than others. Be careful traveling the area roadways.

Hogs and deer also have been much more active and are getting hit on the roads. If you are driving in the area, especially at night watch out for wildlife along side the roads. The black hogs are the hardest to see and they do not shy away from oncoming vehicles.

Neighborhood Watch

With the increase in traffic, that means the increase of chance of something wrong happening. Keep your eyes open for strangers at your neighbors’ places. If you see something, just give them a call and make sure everything is ok.

Deer season is also closing in and this might mean some trespassing going on, so if you see a truck at your neighbors’ gate, give them a call. If that person has permission, then no harm. It does not take but a minute to touch base with your neighbor and help them stay safe. We all have to pull together to keep Muldoon safe.

Rain in Area

Muldoon got around four inches of rain for the first week of October and it was much welcomed. We did not see any flooding and the pastures have responded with the greening up of what grass is left.

The trees are starting to try and change into a little fall color along the roads. We might not have the autumn colors like some parts, but if you look the colors we do get make the drives much nicer.
