Real Conservative or a Fake?

Trump continues shoving his prevarications and loony mercantilism down the throat of Fayette County, and our local Trumpsters dumpster dive for dummkopf arguments and shamelessly publish them. “Researching” in a Trumpster dumpster is no research at all. But perhaps there is a way to redirect their enthusiasm for criminals, corruption and general jackasses.
Let’s teach Trumpsters to select candidates for state and federal positions by analyzing them as if they are running for Fayette County Judge. I doubt that many Trumpsters would vote for a man for County Judge who was impeached or has any one of the other “qualifications” listed:
• Corrupt practices
• Convicted felon
• Habitual liar
• Many acts of sexual misconduct ranging from rape to groping
• Carouses with and sends birthday cards pedophiles
• General lack of a moral compass
• Recklessly runs up record debts
A reminder to our Trumpsters, in his January 2026 interview with the New York Times, Trump said, in opposition to our Constitution, Christianity, Judaism and Islam, said that he is constrained only by “my own reality, my own mind.” Furthermore, he noted “I don’t need international law.” Corrupt Paxton, our Republican candidate for the Senate, supports this. Real conservatives and real Christians do not vote for unhinged poison against constitutional and God given standards of behavior.
Google “Mercantilism” and understand why it is bad policy to be a mercantilist like Trump. It was British mercantilism that was the main cause of our Revolutionary War. Google that as well. In a coincidence of history, Adam Smith’s Wealth of Nations and our Declaration of Independence were both published in 1776, one defining economic freedom and the other promoting democracy. Real Conservatives do not support Trump’s failed antique economics, big debt addiction and self-defeating tariff wars against allies.
We have the weight of Trump’s unconstitutional and illegal Iran War bearing down on Fayette County with diesel prices above $5.50 a gallon, interest rates moving up and prices in general ballooning. Ignoring our Constitution, Trump because believes that he has the right of a tyrant to attack any nation at any time. Our military personnel take an oath to defend our Constitution, not an oath to defend the Trumpoid cult leader. They are subject to prosecution if they commit war crimes whether Trump ordered them to do it or not. It is awful to think of the American serviceman who pressed the button that launched the missile that murdered 120 boys and girls age 6 to 13 in their elementary school plus their teachers in Iran.
Our Founding Fathers, including General George Washington, were horrified at the thought of one man launching wars without the approval of Congress. In the Constitutional Convention, Pierce Butler of South Carolina argued that war-making power should be entirely held by the president. He claimed the president “will not make war but when the Nation will support it.” This suggestion was universally condemned, with Elbridge Gerry exclaiming “never expected to hear in a republic, a motion to empower the Executive alone to declare war.”
It is test time for Trumsters to discover if they are conservatives or fakes. “Original Intent” is important. It is clear that our Founding Fathers made a Constitution that absolutely prevents the executive branch from originating offensive warfare without the explicit consent of Congress. This is a very basic issue of governance that if we do not support our Founding Fathers will continue to have bad and horrible consequences.
Our County Commissioners’ Court just got through with a fight to see who can balance the budget at the lowest level. At the same time, our fake conservatives in Congress and Trump are blowing the top of the bin holding the government bonds and IOUs, including both authorized and unauthorized on vanity projects, at a ferocious rate.
Will Fayette County Trumpsters stand up as real conservatives at state and national levels or continue as fakes?
