Not of This World

To the editor:

When I first saw this, I did not really internalize its meaning as a Christian. I am ‘Not Of This World’as a born again Bible believing Christian. I am a citizen of The Kingdom of God first and foremost. How do you identify yourself to someone new? How do people you know identify you?

As a Christian our citizenship is in God’s Kingdom. I follow His manual- The Bible, a story of Jesus from Genesis to Revelation. His commandments and promises are for my good in every way. I will enter His Kingdom and lay down crowns and rewards earned here at Jesus’ feet versus going in ‘smelling like smoke’. God accounts for our righteousness. This means every decision of mine is accounted righteous or not by Him.

I am, Patsy Parker- Christian, Conservative, Patriot. I do not identify first as Patsy Parker, Republican/Independent. Why? Because I will be accounted for every decision and God is government whether we like it or not but He is not political, He is biblical. My parents taught us to vote and vet candidates by their campaign platform and history to Bible principles. Man will not be perfect but it is up to me to hold them to their foundation platform I voted for, again as close to biblically as possible. I can know from The Bible that man was made in the image of God, not non-binary. Jesus lived on earth as a man. God made two genders, not six. And we are not to change our gender that He created us to be. So, a no vote for James Talerico is easy to vet for a Christian. It is really more important that God knows us (in the sense of an intimate, accepting relationship) than it is that we know God. Remember the terrible words of judgment in Matthew 7: 21-23: I never knew you. That is crushing.

Please read and study Paul’s letter to the Galatians. It is important to make sure that our zeal is in a good thing because zeal in a bad thing is dangerous. If you let the Holy Spirit guide you into all truth, He will. As we walk in the glory, in the freedom, in the miraculous power of this New Covenant, we should expect to be mistreated by those who don’t. As James Boice remarks, the persecution Christians face “will not always be by the world but also and indeed more often by their half-brothers — the unbelieving but religious people in the nominal church. This is the lesson of history… Today the greatest enemies of the believing church are found among the members of the unbelieving church, the greatest opposition emanating from pulpits and church hierarchies.” Many are tired of me saying this but I believe it is truth, “If 90% of Christians would vote in America for biblical platforms/ candidates, we would see 2 Chronicles 7:14 fulfilled suddenly as a blessing from our God.” Be assured that Islam and other dark platforms have a voting turn out plan, Christians should to.
