Biden’s Immigration Debacle

To the editor:

Some recent editorials have complained about our local law enforcement cooperating with federal immigration law enforcement. They cite the arrest of some illegal immigrants who have committed no crimes (other than violating federal immigration laws). And, of course, they play the “race card.”

We can thank Joe Biden (or whoever was running things at the White House) for the current immigration law enforcement operations. Under Biden at least 12 million people illegally crossed our borders. They were encouraged to come. ICE was ordered to stand down. Our Border Patrol became a concierge service dispersing illegal immigrants with unknown backgrounds around the country. The government did this knowing that it would be very difficult to locate and remove these people later.

I have some sympathy for those people who came here illegally but have otherwise been law abiding and productive and have been caught up in the mess that Biden and the Democrats have created. I also believe that we should support those people who are risking their lives to protect us by enforcing the laws of our country including immigration laws.
