Leps Fall to Taylor

The Leps basketball team learned the hard way that the 2023 version of the Taylor Ducks is better than the 2022 version. Before Christmas the La Grange boys bashed the Ducks by 16.

La Grange Swimming Qualifies 15 for Regionals

The La Grange High School swim team participated in their first 4A district meet in history on January 20. With each first place finish at this meet, each swimmer set a district record to now set the standard of 4A competition.

La Grange Girls Lose to the Ducks

The La Grange girls basketball team dropped out of first place with a 52-39 loss at Taylor Tuesday. Keslyn Davis scored 25 points for the Lady Leps but no one else scored more than four.

Corn Scoring in Bunches for the Red-Hot Fayetteville Hoops Team

Fayetteville senior basketball player Karson Corn has been one of the key instruments in a dominant start to the 22-23 hoop season. After coming off of an injury, Corn has used his pure jump shot and shifty athletic ability to score the ball, resulting in superior numbers for a Lions team that has a record of 18-7 overall and 7-0 in district play.

La Grange Speedsters Hang With Legendary Carl Lewis

The recent Carl Lewis High School Invitational track meet in Houston brought out some of the best and brightest track athletes from all over the nation. Shown above, left to right, are former La Grange standout-turned University of Houston track athlete Trey East, Olympic legend Carl Lewis, who is now an assistant track coach at U of H, current La Grange track standout Austin Diggs and his LC Express track coaches Tony Francis and Curtis Truesdale, who himself won the state 100 meter dash as a La Grange high schooler. Diggs placed eighth at the meet out of 144 runners in the 60 meter dash.

Leps Stay Tied atop Boys Hoops Standings

La Grange’s 40-28 victory Friday at Smithville keeps the Leps tied atop the District 224A standings with Giddings and Manor New Tech. The Leps were led by Nate Scott, who scored 15 and Jaxon Cooper added 11.
