Weimar Vets Win Community League Baseball Title Over Serbin Jackrabbits
The Weimar Vets traveled to Voekel/Koether field in La Grange Sunday to face the Serbin Jackrabbits in the Championship game. A tight game in the first seven innings was due to good pitching and defense by both teams. In the top of the eighth, with one out, Mark Revilla walked and went first to third on a wild pitch. Next up, Kyle Peschel singled to center to score Revilla. In the bottom of the ninth, with the bases loaded, pitcher Matt Sandoval fielded a ground ball, threw to Kyle Peschel, catcher, who fired the throw to first for a game ending double play. Final score was Vets 1, Serbin 0.
Schulenburg Baseball Team Honored by Council
The Schulenburg City Council signed a proclamation Monday night, Aug. 4, recognizing the Schulenburg Shorthorn Baseball Team for making it to the State Semifinals.
