Lady Leps Win Playoff Opener; Set New Program Record for Wins

In the bi-district round of the UIL playoffs on Thursday at Hutto Memorial Stadium, the La Grange Lady Leps Varsity Soccer secured a 2-0 win over a formidable Waco Robinson Lady Rockets team. With the victory, the Lady Leps have won 16 of their last 19 games, marking a new program record for success in a single season.

Jazzmin Coleman of LHS Places 4th at State Powerlifting

La Grange High School senior Jazzmin Coleman capped off an outstanding powerlifting career with an impressive performance at the THSWPA State Powerlifting Championships Friday in Edinburgh. Competing in the highly competitive 165-pound weight class, Coleman placed 4th in the state, showcasing her strength and determination on the biggest stage.

LHS Tennis Wins at Shiner

The La Grange tennis team competed at the Shiner Tournament on March 18 and did very well. The Girls Doubles won 1st place (Eleanor Carey (Sr)/Ella Nygren (Sr). Mixed Doubles won 1st place (Hailey Gonzalez (Sr)/Rogan Mihatsch (So). Boys Singles won 3rd place (Chris Morales (Jr).

Baseball/Softball Round Up

The La Grange softball team lost its second consecutive district game by a 1-0 score with a setback at home Friday to Bellville. Brooke Ulrich pitched a complete game four-hitter with 11 strikeouts and only allowed a single unearned run in the fourth inning.

Leps Win at Iconic Venue, Staying Hot Ahead of Friday’s District Opener

The La Grange baseball team is officially on a hot streak, and it’s coming at just the right time, with district play starting this Friday. The Leps (8-5) won their fourth game in a row Monday, beating Goliad 8-2 in a special game at Whataburger Field, the home of the Corpus Christi Hooks, the Houston Astros’ Double-A team.

Baseball/Softball Round-Up

The La Grange softball team dropped to 0-2 in district and 11-8-1 overall after falling 1-0 to Smithville Tuesday. Last week Lady Tigers pitcher Jessica Hinnant threw a no-hitter against the Lady Leps and she was almost as dominant Tuesday, hurling a complete game one-hitter with 14 strikeouts.

Fayetteville Ends Historic Season as State Runner-Ups

Lions Were First County Boys Basketball Team to Play in State Finals in 84 years, But Turkey Valley’s Towering Taylor Brothers Were Too Much The Fayetteville Lions’extraordinary basketball season came to a tearful end Thursday at the Alamodome in San Antonio, where they lost to the Turkey Valley Patriots 66-48 in the state title game. “We just want to make sure that we find gratitude in these moments,” Fayetteville head coach Jake Diggs said after the game.
