District play starts for the La Grange girls basketball team Friday. And gosh, do they look ready.

The Schulenburg girls lost all four games they played at the Moulton Tournament as the Lady Horns fell to 2-14 overall. Weimar girls 40, Schulenburg 25 Lady Horns 8-7-6-4 – 25 Weimar 12-16-8-4 – 40 Schulenburg scoring: Kaylee Beyer 5, Haylee Vacek 2, Fay Kutac 1, Gracie Burton 5, Chayse Deagen 4, Arianna Vincent 4, Grace Schramek 5.

Schuleburg hosted its boys basketball tournament over the weekend. La Vernia won the tourney title, going 4-0.

The La Grange boys basketball team went 0-4 at the Navasota Tournament last week losing to Madisonville 70-63, Navasota 63-40, Hamshire- Fannett 66-40 and finally to Hargrave 81-61. The Leps are now 9-8 overall and host Bellville Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. then at Taylor Dec. 19 before playing at the Luling Tournament over the Christmas Holidays. La Grange begins district play Jan. 2 at home against Caldwell.

The Flatonia girls basketball team won their second consecutive tournament title as they claimed the championship of their home tournament last week. That comes on the heels of their Fayetteville tournament title the week before.

The La Grange girls basketball team went 2-2 at the Brazos Tournament over the weekend and were named tourney runner-ups. The Lady Leps now have a 8-5 overall record.
