Turtle Wing Baseball Games
Benjamin, Slade, and Jackson throw out first pitches for La Grange Baseball & Flatonia Baseball Teams recently. Turtle Wing Games were held with Fayetteville Baseball and La Grange Baseball on Friday, April 12th. Pictured above, Benjamin and Slade with the La Grange Baseball Team. Pictured below, Jackson (#8) with the Fayetteville Baseball Team. Turtle Wing games are held in partnership with Turtle Wing Foundation, and are special games where a child enrolled in special education gets to throw out the first pitch.
Sausagefest 5K Race Winners
The Alliance for College and Career Student Success (ACCSS) held their first annual 5K race in conjunction with the Schulenburg Sausage Festival on April 6. It was a perfect day for a small-town run, with athletes traveling from as far as Austin or Round Rock or as near as a few blocks away from the start line. Chip timing was provided by Run Texas Timing Services. Keegan Escamilla of Columbus was the fastest overall runner with a time of 18:59 and Judy Ashlynd was the fastest female finishing the race in 25:05. Both received medals and gift baskets of ACCSS goodies and a $20 City Market gift card so they could buy some sausage.
