Faith Lutheran Octoberfest Faith Lutheran High School Octoberfest is on Saturday, Oct. 25. Live polka music by Pivo and Polka Band with Kelsey J. Lien, will be from noon-4 p.m. Concessions and beer stand open at noon.

It’s off to new destinations in Mexico for a few days, and my doglets are delighted. They start celebrating the moment the suitcases come out of the closet.

St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville recently donated $11,000 from its Annual Labor Day Feast to the Brenham Pregnancy Center, and St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger donated $6,500 to the same organization using proceeds from their Annual Bazaar. Both donations support the Pro-Life mission of the Brenham Pregnancy Center, which serves 10 counties through its Brenham and Bryan locations.

M Stray Gathering Cowboy Church is collecting items for women and children in honor of October being Domestic Violence month. Any items that may aid women and children as they seek safety can be dropped off and placed in the purple box in the kitchen of the church.

Carmine Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels with Combined Community Action is on Wednesdays at the Martin Luther Lutheran Church Mission and Ministry Building located at 250 Augsburg Ave. in Carmine.

Winchester Oktoberfest will take place on Saturday, Oct. 25 at the Holy Cross Warda Picnic Grounds.
