The Blinn College District’s 2025 Vocational Nursing Program graduates have posted a 100% pass rate on a rigorous national licensing exam. Seventeen students who graduated in June from the face-to-face program and eight August graduates in the blended/ online program passed the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN) on their first attempt.

The Fayette County Firefighters Association recently judged fire poster contest finalists from all schools in Fayette County. They announced the winners on Wednesday, Oct. 22. The top three winners from each age division advanced to the regional contest, judged by representatives of the Guadalupe District of the Texas Firefighters and Fire Marshals Association. Fire Prevention Week was Oct. 5-11 with a focus this year on lithium ion batteries. The theme for this year’s fire poster contest was “Charge into Fire Safety: Lithium Ion Batteries in your Home.”

Fayette County 4-H members competed in the Brazoria County Livestock Judging Contest on Saturday, Oct. 18.

The La Grange Noon Lions Club recently welcomed Susannah Mikulin, CEO of the Greater Fayette Community Foundation (GFCF), as the featured guest speaker at its regular weekly meeting, held every Thursday at noon at Frisch Auf Valley Country Club in La Grange.

The Polka Lovers Club of Texas Museum (PLCTM) is hosting the third annual “Donor Appreciation Dance” on Sunday, Nov. 9 from 2-6 p.m. All Polka dance enthusisasts; or wanna be’s, are invited to join in on the fun as there will be plenty of happy music for happy people.
