This past Saturday, Dec. 13, nearly 50 members of the La Grange High School Mighty Leopard Band auditioned at Smithville HS for a spot in one the ATSSB Region 18/26 All-Region Bands. Of those, thirty students earned a seat, and four students were named as Alternates. “This was an outstanding showing by our students,” said band director Christopher Cooper. This year, The Compound Round Top is partnering with A Meeting of Styles, Inc. on a mission to provide regional, cultural, and educational enrichment that encourages, supports, and promotes visual arts and fine crafts with the inclusion of all artists and artisans from every group and demographic. The Compound Round Top welcomes everyone with an owner and festival director who both genuinely believe inclusion should always be present.

What began as a simple Facebook conversation has blossomed into a countywide effort to ensure every child in Fayette County stays warm this season. Former classmates John Sturrock and Tracy Denton joined forces to make a difference—and their idea quickly gained momentum.
