The Annual Family Dinner and 58th Anniversary of Court Annunciation No. 1962 of La Grange, Catholic Daughters of the Americas (CDA), took place on Sunday, April 14, at the La Grange KC Community Center. The social hour began at 3:30 p.m. followed by the Welcome given by Mistress of Ceremonies, Regent Shirley Antosh. She invited everyone “to reflect upon your gifts to help serve our Lord, our community and our Court.”

W Faith Lutheran High School in Warda will present “The Spring Thing.” This is a showcase of the students’ work in the fine arts department, including vocal, instrumental and handbell pieces. Everyone is invited to join them on Wednesday, May 8 at 7 p.m.

The local Smith-McMillan Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, have awarded $3,500 in scholarships to three area 2024 high school graduates. The winner of the Shirley K.

Mark Chapman, a long-time area entrepreneur, artist, and art collector, left a legacy of acquired art pieces from around Texas and beyond. Mark collected from individual artist as well as galleries large and small.

Every year on the first weekend in May, Fayetteville’s historic town square explodes into life with fine art and live music at Arts for Rural Texas’ (ARTS) annual Art-Walk, a juried fine art festival. This year’s ArtWalk will be held on Saturday, May 4, from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., and Sunday, May 5, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Admission to ArtWalk is free, and all are welcome to attend. ARTS invites visitors to delight in the charming beauty of Fayetteville as they peruse the booths of talented artists and artisans. The weekend promises wonderful art, delicious food, wine tastings, live music, and great fun.

La Grange ISD will hold a three-way race for Place 6 on the school board between Calvin Mersiovsky, Verlia Mosley and Ryan W. Kleiber. Voting takes place at the La Grange City Hall Council Chamber (155 E. Colorado St.), from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.

W Cemetery Decoration Day The annual Winchester Cemetery Decoration luncheon will not be held this year. Members of the association should send their annual dues to Winchester Cemetery Association, 8315 FM 153.

C A pet vaccination clinic will be held on Thursday, May 2, sponsored by the RT-C 4-H Club. Shots will be given at the Round Top Rifle Hall from 5-6 p.m., followed by shots at the Carmine Hall from 6:15-7 p.m.
