Juneteenth Is Coming

The La Grange Rotary Club is helping to support this year’s Juneteenth celebration in Fayette County. The club recently donated $500 to the Juneteenth Committee sponsoring the parade and other activities. Holding the oversized check are committee members John McIntyre (left) and Jonathan Ellis. CDA Court No. 1962 Meets, Presents Awards And Installs New Officers

Court Annunciation No. 1962 of La Grange and Plum, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, held its May 27 meeting at the Sacred Heart Parish - Msgr. Harry Mazurkiewicz Center. The evening began with an annual social at 6 p.m. The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. with opening prayers, especially remembering recently deceased member Bernice Guettler for whom the Charter was draped. Pledges to the U.S. and Texas flags were recited.

The Ladies Tea will be Saturday, June 22 from 10 a.m.-noon at St. John in Rutersville. This will be a tea party and brunch for ladies of every age. Ladies can host a table for a $20 donation and asked to bring a brunch item or dessert. A variety of tea and lemonades will be provided. ‘Kids in the Kitchen’ at Le Petite

Le Petite Gourmet Shoppe, the cookware store on the La Grange square, is hosting a summer program called Kids ‘N the Kitchen, where kids ages 5-12 can learn to cook. On Friday, June 7, the class’s theme was “Everything Bite Sized,” where they learned to cook mini lasagnas, pizza bites, and smores bites.
